A local soccer academy will be sending some of its best young players to square off against arguably the best professionally run developmental academy in the United States this weekend, as the Kendall Soccer Coalition will travel north to face off against Atlanta United FC.
On Sunday, the Kendall SC U-15, U-16/17 and U-18/19 will play at the Atlanta United Training Center. U-15s will play at 10 a.m., while the older U-18/19s will play at 12:00 p.m.
This is a return of games the two programs played in November. On Nov. 11, the Kendall U-15s drew with Atlanta 0-0, while the U-16/17s lost to Atlanta 4-0 and the U-17/18s beat Atlanta 4-0.
Youth development
The two programs have another notable connection: goalkeeper Justin Garces, who moved from Kendall SC to Atlanta after the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where Garces was the starting goalkeeper for the United States.
