The Miami FC 2 and FC Miami City to have “play-in” U.S. Open Cup game at Tropical Park

It took a few days to figure out, but The Miami FC 2’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup journey will start at Tropical Park. Miami FC 2 and FC Miami City will play at Tropical Park Stadium on May 6 at 7 p.m.

The Miami FC 2 was only admitted to the tournament one week ago, and it was drawn against FC Miami City Tuesday. FC Miami City elected to host, with the costs defrayed by the U.S. Soccer Federation.

The Miami FC never played at Tropical Park Stadium, the home field of FC Miami City. It is a closer location to its previous home, Riccardo Silva Stadium, than Bobcat Field at St. Thomas University
