Miami United have benefited from good fortune so far in the 2018 season. In fairness to the club, the fortune seems to be a direct correlation to their approach in the matches. Despite dropping a match to Miami United earlier this season, Naples bounced back comfortably earning a victory against Palm Beach United in their next fixture with three goals in the final give minutes. Their fortunes would turn against Boca as they would drop their next fixture bringing the team to a 1-0-2 record.
Miami United come into the match leading the conference in games played (6) and points (11). United have had to endure a lengthy break in play as their May 27th fixture against the Jacksonville Armada was rescheduled due to the torrential rain that South Florida experienced over Memorial Day weekend. While the layoff was undoubtedly welcomed, it possibly allowed for some rust to develop. United can use tonight’s match as a warm up and a fitness test for what lies ahead in the U.S. Open Cup.

While everyone is quick to note that United’s attack is similar to a supercharged sports car, it’s the defense that has gone under the radar.
