After a lackluster performance against Boca Raton FC and a draw against conference-leaders Jacksonville Aramada, Miami United FC were looking to get back on the right foot. Enter Storm FC.
Storm FC, a team United had put nine past in their earlier matchup, was just what the doctor ordered, as United scored three at Ted Hendricks Stadium to claim a vital three points in the Sunshine Conference.
It wasn’t as easy as it was last month (the 9-0 shellacking), but it’s hard to complain about a 3-0 shutout.
The scoring got started when Victor Pelae, who got the start in this game after a few appearances as a substitute, was able to score in minute 30 after some chaos in the Storm FC box.
The game was put away in the 48th minute, when Nicolás Micoli was fouled inside the penalty box then was able to convert the kick.
Pelae put the cherry on top, finishing an opportunity in minute 64 to give himself a brace.
Miami United’s next game is a key matchup against Armada in Jacksonville. If a winner is decided in that match, that team will likely win the conference. If it is a draw, it gives The Miami FC 2 a chance to overtake both teams.
