FXE Fútbol loses court case, Inter Miami’s Lockhart Stadium demolition to proceed

A Broward County judge ruled Thursday against a motion filed by FXE Futbol, LLC. This likely clears the way for Inter Miami CF to begin the demolition of Lockhart Stadium.

Judge Anuraag “Raag” Singhal ruled that FXE Futbol did not have legal standing in the case under the statute they were citing. The judge went further, stating that even if the case could proceed, FXE cannot prove irreparable harm or violation of state law.

“I respect Judge Singhal very much, but disagree with his conclusions as to our right to temporary injunction and will be appealing,” FXE counsel David Winker said in a statement to Magic City Soccer on Friday evening. “This is simply a denial of our request for a temporary injunction, an extraordinary remedy that courts rarely grant. Our underlying case continues and we look forward to pursuing our claims.”
