There is an argument to be made that this form that the Miami FC have been on as of late has been the most impressive run this team has produced. The 2017 U.S. Open Cup run was special, and the 2017 13-game winning streak in the NASL was incredibly impressive. Even in 2018, the club went 10 straight games with a victory to clinch three trophies in the NPSL playoffs. These last four NPSL matches have just been complete domination with a combined scoreline of 33-1.
The Miami FC are set to host Central Florida SC on Saturday June 8th from Barry University. The two clubs met just weeks ago as Miami routed CFSC by six in Winter Park. In that match Miguel Gonzalez and Dylan Mares both scored a brace with Dario Suarez and Shawn Chin chipping in with a goal of their own. In last weekend’s contest, the orange and blue blasted ten past storm with Gonzalez posting another three and Mares getting one of his own.
Last week Dario Suarez was involved twice on the score sheet against Storm FC with goals in the 73rd and 86th minute. Ariel Martinez would return to the sheet as well with the first two assists of a long night for the boys from Broward. Brian James came to life in the match as well getting a goal of his own and filling in effortlessly at fullback.
Keys To A Miami FC Victory
This section is usually filled with tactical suggestions and hypothesis of how manager Paul Dalglish should deploy his squad in the upcoming match. The only problem I’m having is trying to find a flaw in this roster against the weaker opponents in the Sunshine Conference. If there is any location where the orange and blue are susceptible to a mistake it would be on that back-line. The game against the Florida Soccer Soldiers exposed the blueprint for beating this club and it’s through pressing the centreback pairing into a mistake. Avoiding such a gaff would extend Miami’s victory streak to five and by another hefty scoreline.
Prediction
Truth be told, we haven’t seen much this season from the MLS veterans in Harrison Heath and Lloyd Sam. Both players came into the club with high performance expectations and they have yet to leave their mark on the season. Expect Dalglish to keep the well oil-machine running, but perhaps, allow both to feature in the second half if Miami pads an early lead going into the second half. While I hate to say it, this match is just a formality until next week’s clash against Naples United to potentially go top of the table.
