It is here, it is finally here. Welcome to the official start of the 2018 soccer season in the Magic City. As fate would have it, the first match pits two of our local clubs against each other. Local NPSL powerhouse Miami United get to take on the NPSL newcomers Miami FC 2. The #MagicCityClasico will surely be one of the determining factors of who moves on to the NPSL playoffs and tops the table at the end of the year. Let’s take a look at both teams that have a chance to lift the newest trophy in the battle for Miami.

As you’ve heard Miami may not have a team in the “Pro” leagues this year but that does not mean that there is no soccer to enjoy throughout the Magic City. Miami FC 2, Miami United, and FC Miami City will each have a home slate plus additional games that are played within a 45-minute drive.
Miami Fusion F.C. — which was founded in 2013 and won the National Premier Soccer League’s Sunshine Conference in 2017 — has folded, per a source close to the conference.

Between its 14-game unbeaten run and its two victories in U.S. Open Cup competition against Major League Soccer opposition, it’s worth talking about. However, a boiling rivalry has formed in a lower division, and the NPSL Sunshine Conference championship may come down to a local derby between these two clubs: Miami United FC and Miami Fusion FC.
