During the Miami FC’s Facebook Live event last week, Bruce Silverman and Sean Flynn announced that the Miami FC 2 schedule will have them opening the NPSL campaign on the road at Miami United (Ted Hendricks Stadium) on April 15. They will return home to complete their season series against United on April 21 at St. Thomas University.
It seems like there’s a lot of dust in the air surrounding the beautiful game here locally. While every other league’s schedule is still “under construction”, the PDL released their schedule recently. “PDL?”, you ask. Yes FC Miami City, the only club in the PDL from the magic city, will return to Tropical Park for the 2018 PDL season.

Miami FC fans rejoice! The club is back! The Miami FC announced the creation of Miami FC 2 yesterday in a press release. The “2” team will play in the National Premier Soccer league for the 2018 season. Playing in the Sunshine Conference, the Miami FC NPSL squad will have to go up against local clubs Miami United, Storm F.C., Boca Raton F.C., and NASL foe Jacksonville Armada among others.

David Beckham made a splash near Biscayne Bay on Monday in typical Miami style, high on hype and low on substance. But the energy was palpable in the Arsht Center and across Miami as the footballing legend announced that finally, yes, Major League Soccer had awarded him a coveted franchise in South Florida.

South Florida is rife with excitement following Major League Soccer’s announcement that Miami will be awarded an MLS franchise. After a tumultuous four years, David Beckham has seemingly rounded up the partners and money he needs to bring a first division franchise back to South Florida for the first time in 16 years with the Miami Beckham United group.
Miami Fusion F.C. — which was founded in 2013 and won the National Premier Soccer League’s Sunshine Conference in 2017 — has folded, per a source close to the conference.
Another day down, another day closer to a significant moment for soccer fans of Miami-Dade County.
“Fútbol Miami MLS” released a website Friday with a countdown clock to a “major soccer announcement” on Monday at noon. On the website, a link was also available to the Adrienne Arsht Center’s website, where tickets were made available for this announcement. (UPDATE: Tickets for the event have sold out).
