It took a little while, but The Miami FC shook off its post-Hurricane Irma rust and showed its quality against Miami United FC’s APSL squad, 6-0.
Well let’s be honest, perhaps soccer is the last thing on your mind at the moment. Nobody could blame you and we strongly urge that you finish up your hurricane preparations before even thinking about attending tonight’s Miami FC game against the New York Cosmos. Our preview is going to be short and to the point because we still have some prep work to do ourselves and we will probably not be in attendance.
After getting out Puerto Rico with three points despite giving up plenty of chances, Miami FC had to return home and get ready to play the same club again. Entering the game Miami had not allowed a single goal since Eamon Zayed’s 88th minute tap in three weeks ago. Would Miami’s back line hold up? Would Mason Trafford make an appearance?
The highly anticipated rematch between the top two teams in the NASL fall table, The Miami FC and Puerto Rico FC, is here. As we mentioned last week, the fall season has been a reverse of fortune for teams who found themselves at the bottom in the spring. Positions three and four are currently held by Edmonton and North Carolina who need a magical run in this campaign to earn a spot in the NASL playoffs.
It’s a two-man operation for Magic City Soccer, as Matt and Drew both preview and review The Miami FC’s matchups with Puerto Rico FC. We talk about the establishment of the NISA and how the new third-division league might impact soccer in Miami-Dade County. Plus, we talk about the start of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup, which will begin three days after the end of the 2017 U.S. Open Cup. Join us, won’t you?

It’s been a while since Miami FC have faced off against the football club from “La Isla Bonita,” Puerto Rico FC. These teams know each other well although it doesn’t really seem that they play often. Perhaps that’s because these games have been less notable than those against other NASL foes.
Finally, Drew, Matt and Omar are back together for some Magic City Soccer! The results are average at best! We talk about Hurricanes and FIU women’s soccer, the start of the APSL fall season, Miami FC player acquisitions and game results, European club football and the U.S. facing off in the Hex. Join us, won’t you?

What we have coined as the #PalmettoDerby took place Sunday. The University of Miami Hurricanes squared off against the Panthers of Florida International University in front of more than 600 people at FIU Soccer Stadium. Ten miles and two goals separated these two clubs in what was a great display of talent for local collegiate soccer.
The American Premier Soccer League kicked off its fall season last weekend, with two powerhouses of the league facing off at Tropical Park Stadium as FC Kendall and Red Force FC fought to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
The Miami Hurricanes soccer team kicked off their season with a bang tonight at Cobb Stadium. Miami dominated Saint Francis (PA) by a score of 6-0. After working out the kinks following a 0-3 loss to upstate UCF, the Canes came back and dominated Florida Tech on Monday 7-0. They got off to a hot start Friday night as well.
Miami lost 4 key players coming into 2017. Three key players in defense (Auld, Dal Pozzo, and McCarthy) tallied two goals and eleven assists in 2016. Nothing hurts this team more than losing striker Gracie Lachowecki who tallied eleven goals and three assists in 19 games last season. Miami didn’t seem to mind losing these key players in this showing.
