The United Premier Soccer League tweeted out some expansion news early this morning. One of the most successful local amateur teams over the last 10 years, Red Force FC, will field a team in the UPSL. The team has previously competed in the American Premier Soccer League.

In the team’s first conference match, the Miami Hurricanes women’s soccer team faced adversity even before kickoff. Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Florence on the Carolinas, the match between UM and Clemson was moved back from 5 p.m. to noon.

After months of speculation and years of waiting, Miami finally has an official name to identify its new Major League Soccer franchise: Inter Miami CF.
According to L’Esportiu de Catalunya, a prominent sports newspaper based in Spain’s Catalonia region, Barcelona and Girona will contest the first LaLiga North America match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on the weekend of Jan. 26 and 27.
While the plans have not yet confirmed by the clubs or the league, both Barcelona and Girona are based in Catalonia.
The nightmare start to the season continued for FIU men’s soccer on Friday night. The FIU Panthers dropped their home opener to the Stetson Hatters 3-2.
