Hard Rock Stadium announced Monday that the Perú and Chile national football teams will face off in Miami Gardens on Oct. 12.
The two teams have been the focus of attention within the last few years, grabbing some of the spotlight normally reserved for the titans of South America like Brazil and Argentina. Chile has won the last two Copa America tournaments, winning in 2015 and in the 2016 Copa América Centenario.
Perú had been largely dormant since its heyday of the 1970s, until qualifying over Chile for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Despite a relatively poor showing, the country drew attention for the rabid support of its fans (which was preceded by a raucous showing in Miami last March).
The stadium is currently taking registration on its website for presale information. General public sales will begin on Aug. 15.
