While it may not be El Clasico in 2018, Miami is rumored to host some major friendlies in the summer at Hard Rock Stadium. In a leaked set of games from the International Champions Cup 2018 schedule, it seems that Miami will be hosting two men’s matches in addition to the two women’s matches announced earlier in the month.
The ICC has been buzzing around the Fontainebleau hotel where a beach soccer stadium has been erected to coincide with an announcement. The flags erected behind the stadium represent the 18 different clubs that will be competing in this summers tour.
On July 31st, Manchester United will make their return to the Magic City as they will square off against Real Madrid. Real Madrid competed in Miami last year and have consistently returned during the offseason over the past decade.
Hard Rock Stadium will also host a “lead in game” very similar to last year’s Juventus v PSG match. On July 28th, Manchester City and Bayern Munich will take the field in a preseason friendly.
A list of matches has been circulating on social media and on different soccer publications of matches across the country. While other sites may be getting your more traditional derby match, the firepower behind these two fixtures is unmatched.
An official announcement from the ICC is scheduled for 10am tomorrow. Ticket information for all matches will likely be released at that time as well. You can sign up now for pre-sale access on their website.
